Corey . Brownby nivlekComment by capall: This was my favorite in the challenge by a good four lengths. Should have scored much better. |

river gumsby nivlekComment by Ter: interesting image
as with HDR sometimes the halo's can be a real distraction as i see in the edging of the background hills
have you tried photomatix pro? i use it for my HDR and its so good and quite easy to learn
as you see there are a few Victorians here in PaW too
i too would like to know where you shot this
it speaks Murray River to me Message edited by author 2010-02-21 05:52:29. |

1st 2nd 3rdby nivlekComment by dtallakson: I love pelicans. I took photos of some of them in Cabo San Lucas sometime ago. It's surprising just how large they are! |

river gumsby nivlekComment by jomari: Lovely shot of the river and river gums. Being a Victorian I'd be interested to know the location. |

Port Kemblaby nivlekComment by kellymk: Also see the horizon tilting left! But I think it adds to the movement of the eye. Just a thought - would a narrower focal plane have added something? |

river gumsby nivlekComment by kellymk: [quote=kellymk] Intersting textures and good contrast. Great 1st attempt. I just feel it's a little too much to take in at once. Just a thought here - what if you cropped off the right hand third as an alternative composition? You'd have a reflected diagonal top and bottom right and a nice leading line of the trees on the left, echoed by the big branch. Just a thought, but still I think this is a great attempt:) |

river gumsby nivlekComment by kaiser_chief: Kel, first question is where abouts is this........I enjoy seeing the different locations, and especially phtos of back home cause i am stuck in cold, wet England at the moment............
The haloing is a detraction in the image. Would have been great had you been able to process and avoid the haloing........I tend to play around a lot with my images, and often get the colouring I like, and then go back from the start and reproduce it while making sure I avoid any major halos
The black and white is good. The large tree to the right though totally dominates the image, which means the row of gums on the far side, and their reflections in the river get missed a lot...........If you could have moved a little further back, then the gum, while still there (
cause it has a place) would then not dominated as much, you would have added some more trees from the far bank and then it would have worked really well............. |
