I love these long exposure waterfall photos... Two things personally I would've liked to see changed is 1: the whole image a little darker (or maybe more contrast) and 2: Cropped below the blown out sky on the top right... but the blown out sky could also work well for the image. Overall very nice... and you did not lose the photographic feel. I like it.

fairfield, you should take a look at many of the other entries in the night shot challenges, and you'll notice that most of them are shot without flashes. other light sources can range anywhere from street lights to flashlights to moonlight and starlight.

use flash the photo would be pitch black. It is very

obvious by looking at the picture above that it was

That's a matter of opinion. Very subjective. I'm sure

If I looked at your portfolio, it's very likely

that I would find boring photos there as well.

Though this shot is technically taken at night, it really lacks interest. It looks to me like a snapshot taken with a flash. One thing I can tell you is that voters are BRUTAL if they encounter photos that look like snapshots. Try and use a creative composition and subject matter in the future. Just my $.02. :)
