I like the dead tree and would have liked to see more of it. I feel conflicted between saying it's too dark and being just right. Were you attempting to "set a mood"? Maybe a dramatic view of the tree would help. 6 Swash

I think the curves in this picture do well to give movement to the picture. Also, the dead tree adds some interest as well. I am gathering from the title that this is a picture that is supposed to be dark, but on my monitor, it is a touch too much so. I think a touch more exposure, or a bit of adjusting of the lightness and contrast might make the interesting details more obvious.

Very dark shot. You may want to see if you could lighten it up a bit in post processing. The composition is OK, I may have moved the crop so the tree is further down in the shot. Good clarity and sharpening.

Just a bit too dark for my tastes. I like the lighting on the tree and water a lot, but the part at the bottom and top don't add much to the picture. Maybe a tighter crop to only include the middle section would emphasis the light more. = 7
