Old chimneyby greslizzzComment by jent: The new car to the right, and the smoke infront of the chimney distract from the photo. At the very least I would have croped further to the right to remove the car...and maybe removed a little of the front ground to give the picture good dimensions |

Old chimneyby greslizzzComment by puzzled: The nearly total desat looks cool here - if you didn't have it, the "old" feeling would be much harder to get across, but what you've done works. Too bad that super modern car in in the shot though. The angle of view and leading lines are sweet! |

Showy squirrelby greslizzzComment by greslizzz: Thanks everybody for your comments... I realized after some of them that "candid moments" is not the same as "candid" ... I just followed candid definition which better apply to animals than persons, but definetely candid moments apply more to persons.
Just, some explanation about the wet fur... it was snowing all the day (You can se the background... all the backyard was very wet.
By far, my best portrait... ZD 50-200 mm lens are really great!
Thanks again and have fun shooting! :) |

Old chimneyby greslizzzComment by tomz: Old chimney but a brand spanking new Toyota on the street, it's a little bit distracting. |

Showy squirrelby greslizzzComment by macrothing: I gave this a 5. In my opinion, it is possible to capture an 'animal candid', but very difficult to do, basically (again, my opinion), if it is a 'moment captured' that has some natural and unaware nature to it (hard to explain), then it could be a candid. Not the same as a human candid, but a candid nevertheless. This is a good capture with a little pose, character and a 'just caught off guard'/became aware of your presence, type of moment. Colors are very good. Textures very good, as is the composition. It is partly the tail, but mostly the 'punk do' on top of the ears that really make this shot in my opinion - and why I took the liberty of adding it to my Favorites. |
