Thank you for this. I so enjoyed coming upon it in the challenge, that I revisited it often. Remarkable. I would suspect that you did stage this with respect to the foreground couple, but have to believe that the couple in the distance was serendipitous, and marvelously so. Regardless, it is indeed a masterful piece of work. Edit to say thanks to Ed for putting into words what I could not.

this is a lovely shot that is rife interpretive potential. I'd be curious to know whether it is staged?

The lovers, surrounded by a dreamworld (their future) on one side and a reflecting shopwindow of fantasies on the other. This is an insanely good photograph, and more than a photograph.

This is awesome. I love the dark tones and the reflection captured in the window. Too bad she does not have an engagement ring on because that would have looked really pretty in the window too. Great juxtaposition with the older couple down the street. 9

Such a cool shot! The reflection is very nice but my favorite part is the old couple in the distance that appear to be holding hands - sort of a "love before" and a "still love after" expression. Back to bump you up to 9.

Nice crop - 'fine art' indeed! Two dynamics strike my eye - the first and most obvious is the window reflection, which, despite your title, brings to my mind a sense of the impossibility of the permanent - or at the very least a presentiment of that impossibility: the two figures, evidently still bound in the affection, but broken up by the strange geometry of the architecture. A sense of hope there, but the very sense of hope requires an admission that one cannot be certain of any future whatsoever.

Secondly, there are the two almost ghostly, almost angelic figures further up the street: in the pose you have caught strongly suggesting a more aged couple - yet still with contact, still with affection as it seems. In some senses presenting an ideal of what might possibly lie ahead, a sense of all we could reasonably hope for; two directions, the possibility of fracture, of the interference of the hard geometry of the world, and yet also the evident possibility that those might be overcome.

To top that off with your cheeky suggestion of some greater relevance to it all in that cropping of that sign; the more I look the more I think its simply a masterpiece. Thankyou.
