I am going to state first that I am not any way a astrophotographer, but I think you did a great job with this photo. I love the lens choice you used for this as it gives so much of the beautiful sky. Excellent light control as well, the exposure is evenly lit, especially with so many elements within that radiate light.

I really like how you have some elements of the ground to relate to as we look into the heavens. The sharp trees give a feeling of a nice clear night, and a couple people outside just stargazing or camping.

I also like the glow of the clouds at the horizon area. It gives the feel of either the sun still setting or the sun begining to rise. It just really adds interest at that point and outlines the trees really well.

You really captured the tonal range of this shot very well, at first it had me thinking if it was an HDR or not but once studying it a bit i dont believe it to be. But wow, there are some great color in this. My Favorite has to be the sky, I really love the leading lines in it running on the horizontal away from you. Looks a bit weird in the upper right side colorwise, but could have been from uploading or something perhaps.

The slight reflection at the shore really adds alot of interest at that point.This photo gives the eye a visual piece of candy at many points within. A couple of nice lines are created in the waves on the shore as well.

I think in this frame the position of smartypants is good compositionally, but the logs right behind her on the ground do catch my eye a bit. Not saying they are a distraction though. The light is beautiful. If smartypants ever writes a book and needs a few photos of herself, I would highly reccommend this one.

WOW, good job - you look incredible! Congratulations! I can't wait to show your pictures to my husband. He's been depressed since gaining 60lbs, and is having trouble staying on track to lose any of it.

Very cool! Did you do timelapse recording or are these manual exposures? I'm curious as to whether or not you had to manually adjust your settings while shooting.
