Have you tried cropping out some of that mucky seaweed? It might have helped the picture draw your eye to the duck more.

Very cute! IMO the image would be more effective if the duck was completely isolated - ie no evidence of the shallow bottom. A tighter crop at the top of the frame may improve this (but may have risked low marks for subject size in this particular challange).

Hey, that's not a _rubber_ duck! Well captured, everything looks nice and sharp. The composition might be improved by isolating the duckling more, getting it away from some of the weeds and perhaps using a more extreme placement in the frame.
