It projects a law enforcement officer in a positive light. Law enforcement people have a thankless job. The media is too quick to show negative images to boost ratings. Police everywhere have learned to put up with it. The occassional positive image and a well meaning, "Thank you" goes a long way to boost moral. |

Your desaturation is good, but the tighter crop would really force the viewer to focus on the wonderful interaction you have captured. Good work!! |

Twice a Dayby LN13Comment by jfriesen: Hello from the Critique Club!
Oh Wow, I really like this image and personally think it should have scored higher.
The composition is great and well though-out. The repitition of bristle rows is very interesting and additive to the photograph.
You have captured great detail in the bristles themselves. This image is tack sharp and exposure looks great on my monitor.
The only thing I could suggest is replacing the green paper with another color that contrasts and make the foreground "pop" a little more. Maybe that is what the voters were looking for.
Overall GREAT image. Happy shooting!

Lostby LN13Comment by heathen: the selective desat really works well here...it's not always received well on DPC, but I think in this case you made the best possibly PP decision |

Lostby LN13Comment by posthumous: it's a shame to see such a well-composed, emotive shot turned into a mere gimmick by selective desaturation. |
