Deception Pass Bridge - 1930'sby jbsmithanaComment by jbsmithana: Thanks for all the comments. I agree about the distractions in the lower right and left. Cropping them out just looked worse to me and being a basic challenge I had to leave them in. As for over shapening I seem to be having a problem with that on images with quite a bit of detail. As I did not add any sharpening to this photo throughout the process I think it might be in my rezizing. Still working on it. Overall I'm pretty happy with this score.
Thanks again to all who voted and commented. |

Replaced by the Tucsonby jbsmithanaComment by Artifacts: Leading lines or curves generally have two purposes. One is to lead the viewer into the scene. The other is to lead you toward the main subject. It is most effective if they come in from the lower left because that is the natural direction humans visually scan a picture so easiest to pick up.
This foreground boat adds great interest to the composition and effectively leads the viewer to the background boat in the background. Very creative approach to the challenge. |

Replaced by the Tucsonby jbsmithanaComment by muur88: the texture on the boat is very cool. there was another photo in the challenge of a brick wall that leads to a house. i think if you had chosen an angle similiar to that and gotten macro close to the foreground boat and managed to keep the other one blurred in the background, you'd have something that better led the eye and better exposed that wonderful texture |

Deception Pass Bridge - 1930'sby jbsmithanaComment by Sam Jowett: Nicely composed but the tree line to sky transition makes it rather obvious the work you've had to do here I'm afraid. I find it rather distracting from what should be the main subject... |
