Interesting composition of the cicada in different phases of metamorphosis. We had the 17 year brood X here on the east coast a few years ago. It was fascinating to watch them develop en masse, lay eggs and die off. One clarification; cicada are not locusts. Locusts are the swarming phase of a type of grasshopper.
