This would be my favorite of the spirals. I feel that what sets this one apart from the rest is the other spirals in the background. This gives me the feeling that the spirals go on froever and that this is but a close up of one of the many spirals. The image is grisp and has a nice texture. I do feel however thatthere is just a little too much contrast in the lighting. I would have likes for the shadows to be just a bit lighter. 8

Thanks for the encouragement, man. I think this shot works better out of an 'apple challenge' context because as an idea for the apple challenge it's a bit flat, but as a generic textured macro shot it works. I think I got grilled by the voters for the simplicity of the subject and the perceived lack of creativity.

Strangely enough, I thought this was quite a 'stock photography' type image which can sometiems do well on DPC - the voters are pretty unpredictable hehe.
