The subject matter is really interesting but the composition leaves something to be desired. A closer shot would have been better. The blue background would have been better smooth (no ribs) and that little speck of white, as small as it is, is really distracting. Nice choice of subject though. You might want to reshoot it for another challange.

A really good idea, I like the precision of the geometric shapes in the image. The thing that i don't like so much is the textured background, which for me, takes away from the subject. The colour of the background is good though and compliments the metal well

Your image could need some more contrast. Also, there should be something in the focused area that grabs your attention. A coloured seed for example. 4.
