How much Woodchuck do your Ducks chuck?by theSajComment by Blink_Too_Fast: This is a picture of ducks, not of cider. I keep trying to look at the bottle, but keep getting distracted by the ducks. My eye tends to go to the top left of the picture (where the bottle is pointing), then generally follow the ducks down the left of the shot (they are sort of looking down the shot) to the ducks at the front looking at me, then I stop. I think all the ducks should look AT the bottle. |

Climbing to the Topby theSajComment by ambaker: Critique Club Review:
Focus is nice and sharp. Depth of field is well used to isolate the subject from distracting components of the picture. If anything I would have blurred the stripe of sharp focus at the bottom of the 'V' in the rocks to the left of the turtle. It's a little bit distracting for me. Not bad, just a little. Or you could have gone with an even shallower depth of field. To me the key is the face of the turtle. Turtles don't have much to have an expression with, but this picture sure seems to speak of sheer determination.
The ISO 400 speed left you with a little more grain than I like to see. But, at a shutter speed of 1/60 it looks like you didn't have much choice.
Very nice capture.

How much Woodchuck do your Ducks chuck?by theSajComment by glad2badad: Cute, kinda. I think you have too many props (ducks) with what should be the main subject. The background was white? If yes, a color temp adjustment needs to be made as it came out quite warm (yellow/red tones). Good luck in the challenge. |
