Nice composition - works very well. Are you sure that's a US flag from the period? (35 or 36 states..) Definitely fits the challenge though. It may be a bit beyyer if the whites were the same color is each flag.

i love it. as far as suggestions go, i would have used an 1860's flag, this one is the modern flag.

I don't like many flag photos, but this is a good one. Good composition (positioning/ use of lines), well chosen theme. In relation to the stars and stripes the other one's lighting is a bit off, but perhaps that is also due to the dark colors of the flag itself, I don't know. Good work.

I like the opposition of colors - but the folds on the Confederate flag make it feel fresh out of the box. The diagonal drape and irregular folds on the American flag are very nice, it's a good composition.

Question? Did you try a few shots with both flags covering 1/2 of the space diagonally? I am sure you did and found this to be the better.

If you used the Union States flag of the period, then you would've had a better opposite of the Confederate States flag. Otherwise, nice detail and color.

Going by the comments in the forums, I'll bet you're getting hammered on your score. This photo has interest--I like the choice of display, draping the "winning" flag over the other. It's too bad that the US flag shows through--perhaps placing something white between the top layer and those under it would help. The composition is nice, the colors, shadows, sharpness all well done. Overall, a good study.
