i think this is an interesting image. though i'm a little lost in the idea of it. first time i looked at it i noticed first off that the skin and shodow of you is very well taken, very pretty skin in photos, (edited or not) is always nice to see. i also see this could be a contrast between an evil self and a good self, which is an awsome idea and is portrayed well except for the chess board. at first glance i didn't know what it was, but not that i've looked at it again i get it. theme of your photo is very bold and thats always good to see, just keep experimenting with technical ways to make your photos extraordinary. if you check out my portfolio, you can see i have the same problem

Way to take risks -- always great to see people willing to challenge themselves.

First, lemme say, great processing on the skin.

Now, I hope that this is constructive:

* The textured background here is a bit distracting.

* I understand why it might be desired to obscure the face; however, the top portion of the photo is much too dark. Perhaps you could do something (with some light set up or in Photoshop) where the background catches some light, while the face remains in shadows.

By the way, your pics of Jewel are great. I specially like how you've used him/her as a prop here:

Since I have worked with many models I simply want to congratulate you on your superb features which lend themselves to many classical theme interpretations. I certainly hope that you look into the great potential that you posses. This is something you can take advantage of yourself. Keep bringing these nice images. This image is so endearing with the coy look that i am placing it in my favs. Like you have been told this image would have finished very high. It is ribbon quality.

I am also placing you on my favs photographers as I think you have a lot of talent for you appear to be searching. Nothing like a searcher with a good artistic eye.

A study with valuable substance as it well presents the concept of the coexistence of higher and lower life form. I would rather say different life forms. The effect is soft and the 3/4 face adds great interest. Good work.

Wow. Lotsa work. The pinky over the eye is a huge distraction for me. I know this was a tough shot. 7

A very interesting image with two different values of lighting as evidenced. While not fitting the self portraiture on the money, it does present a highly mysterious and emotive image with great impact. Bumping up.
