Steel, Steam & Manby FirstyComment by jaysonmc: Very moody feel. I like it, the towering train with the ominous smoke/clouds. Wonderful lines and my favorite people to keep it to scale. Wonderful image. |

day 04by FirstyComment by CNovack: I absolutely love the crop and the border choice. The border gives an impression of a 'widescreen' view but we get an especially close-up view of the cow as she stares back at us. Clarity/details of the face is wonderful - look at the eyelash detail and those wonderful black flecks of color on her white striped portion of her face!!!! Love the black & white tones of the cow really pop in this photo - contrast of subject and capture could not be any better. |

day 07by FirstyComment by Firsty: Originally posted by boysetsfire: loving how she is within the lines that lead straight to the opera house, wondering if you croppped something distracting out of the composition or you just liked it cropped like this?

there was nothing distracting I was just trying to get the opera house up to it's 3rd line and the line intersection down to it's 3rd line
there is more sky, foreground and water to be had if need be
now I think about it I should have dodged the lines a lot brighter to lift the tone of the shot as they really stand out on the color version and are what the shot is about |

day 05by FirstyComment by colorcarnival: i actually like the black and white better. the other one shows up as a pinkish tone on my screen. the clarity of the sky is awesome. and i like the glow of the light on the building as well. |
