this may sound harsh but i think this photo overall is quite dull and in some ways represents how mechanical photography as an art medium can be sometimes.... its a decent looking shot but it just lacks interest.

The motel is sliding down the hill? crop of the top and level it out and I would be very pleased by this image. The light is quite nice and the detail good. maybe a little majenta on this display.

Late night - yes. Properly exposed - yes. But compositionally very much at the bottom, flat, off horizontal, with little in the way of focal point.

The trees look terrific, the light, colors and focus are great. The building looks weird, there's a strange perspective. The light reflecting on the white are too harsh. The handicap parking sign is distracting, because of the color it stands out and is really not bringing anything to this scene.

Well just started this Critique club thing so lets see how it goes, hopefully you like my examination of your picture :)

Well for starters what we have here is a decent picture so there is not very much I can say about it. It is very good in its simplicity and the girl is looking like she liked her present. And the lightning on her face looks good.

I must however say that there is something that is missing in the picture, something that says that *whooomp!* that I like to hear when I look at a great picture. If you would have made this picture just a litle more exciting you would have been able to get a higher score and I would have heard my litle *whooomp!*
