ok, i'm sure you're getting hammered by the kid-cops, so i won't pile on. if your scores and comments here don't meet your expectation, please don't take it personally. just look at this as a starting point, and keep on shooting and submitting! remember, one of the 'challenges' is to submit images that will appeal to a broad base of viewers. while this is a great image for your scrapbook, it probably will not excite too many people who don't have an emotional tie to the child. on the other hand, if you had her standing on the rock, looking towards the mountains, and you composed it with her in a lower corner, you'd have an image that would speak volumes! children can be GREAT subjects, but only if you use them to help your image tell a story. hope this helps some. good luck in this and all the coming challenges!

Very scenic with vivid colors! Your model looks both happy and nervous to be on that rock! Good focus. I like that more of the picture is in focus.

Cute capture. The dead center placement makes the shot a bit less interesting, and the fact that we see no light in her eyes is a little disconcerting.

There's another Rocky Mountain picture here, and I told him too that I have to mark you down for my jealousy factor (JUST kidding)! But seriously, the Rocky Mountains are my favorite place on the earth, and I always vote really high on good Rocky Mountain pictures because you can't take a non-beaituful picture there :) I love this picture! That's a gorgeous little girl -- a perfect compliment to the gorgeous scenery!

Cute little girl. The sky is a little bright/blown out and the girl is somewhat shaddowed. Maybe locking exposure on her face would have helped...although the sky would have suffered more...
