interesting almost-abstract image, too bad the bottom skin is a bit fuzzy

Not sure quite what your punny title means... why a play on words of defeat? Where is defeat? Without your title, I would not have been aware that this photo depicts feet, so this drawing could have been on any body part, and I think that makes this too abstract for me for a nude challenge. For me, the point of a nude study is to explore the nude form, and I'm not sure this photo does that. The skin used here is very much just a background for the Japanese looking artwork which doesn't captivate me I'm afraid. The composition doesn't really draw me in, and seems a bit haphazard.

For a naked challenge - this really does not show me naked of any kind. For me the hardest part is meeting the criteria and this fails.

That aside, i like your b&w tones.

Too much contrast. Plus, there is no real clear focus to the pic

In this very busy image you've done two things to simplify - narrow DOF to blurr the background and isolate the subject, and desaturate to draw attention. But my eyes are draw two ways - the bright desaturated flower - and then the dragon fly which is not at first apparent. I think desaturating the dragon fly would work better - or desaturate all the plant life - show how plant and animal life are different...

Comment by Olyuzi:
A little too dark to be able to discern detail. The bug gets camoflaged in the background and composition is a bit too cluttered.

messy composition. Need to think what you are trying to show, what the subject is. I see a distracting background, a damselfly facing sideways, a messy flower. Subject totally unclear to me and no impact.

the colors are off and the broken stem right across the main image is distracting

Lots of potential but the focus is soft on your subject and the background is way too busy.
