You have a very interesting take on the challenge. Exposure good, focus a bit soft. But I'm not sure I "get" the significance of the destroyed picture. Pedicure is definitely overdue.

I'm not sure what to say. It is not an appealing photo and I cannot see the point of the photo of the child. Maybe a childs foot would have been better or a childs empty shoes.

This, though contrived, comes across as a pyscho-social commentary. It makes me sad and concerned. Both subjects, perhaps the same, deserve better than they are getting. As as a composition it certainly communicates. Design-wise, the two objects could be placed slightly closer together...the foot drawn back slightly to a 1/3 position so as not to ovrwhelm with buckles and staps, and to enhance balance and contrast.
