Repairby alanbataarComment by alisasaur: Shallow dof is fine, but I honestly can't tell what's in the background, and I wish I knew what it was. Good idea & good shot; the screws on the quarter should be more in focus, in my opinion. |

Repairby alanbataarComment by Curious: Beautiful image. The depth of field speaks for itself. The lighting is great and the texture at the front works really well against the metal. This image gives a real sense of wanting to be careful not to bump the table. |

Repairby alanbataarComment by dwolff: I guess this meets the challenge but if you open up your computer you will find screws that make the ones on the quarter look huge by comparison. Original idea though, the only screws in the challenge. Plus, I don't like the blurry background. |

Crime Sceneby alanbataarComment by alanbataar: Hello ikat -- you asked how I thought of the "crime scene" image. It was sort of a domino effect... unfortunately, I have only a small bit of time I can dedicate to DPC because my job is too demanding. So, I had a bag of m&ms on my desk at work, and I was shooting.
A guy who is a real jerk came by and made a rude comment about "playing" on work time. For the record, I was at lunch. :) Anyway, a few passive agressive gestures at his departing back, and I angrily grabbed one of the subjects and chomped down on it. This triggered the thought of how our civilized psyche copes with stresses that, if we were totally primal, would be expressed in violence. The photo is essentially a visualization of the act of transferrence, with chocolate as the actors in the play. Yeah, too many psychology courses in college...
Thanks to everyone that voted, and a special thanks to those that added the photo to their favorites: that's a real compliment! This has been my personal best so far! Whoo hoo! |
