Intriguedby Zap228Comment by loz1: I like the idea and I think its kind of funny, but maybe go a little easier on the neat image next time. It gives some aspects of the photo a plastic look and also takes away a lot of important detail. |

Tri-Toneby Zap228Comment by aleksi: Marvellous use of depth of field. Feels like it would have worked better if there'd be less of artificial feeling in the effect. The major colors of the pens don't have much tones left, but the tips and the wood is great. I'm sure you'd have got more out of the background lines by testing various positions. I'm not sure there's point to get lost of the lines on top right corner. Also I'm not sure the light yellows on same area add up. |

Tri-Toneby Zap228Comment by TooCool: IMHO, Your DOF is too shallow. (It almost looks like it was PS'ed in) The lines on the paper are distracting and don't add to the composition. Your leading lines are not bad, but lose some impact with the lack of focus.

Tri-Toneby Zap228Comment by BrennanOB: i find the gaussian blur a bit heavy handed here. If you are trying to simulate a narrow DOF having one plane in focus rather than one part of one plane. A layered blurr that gets stronger as it moves away from the focus point rather then a binary sharp / blurred line is more appealing. |
