I'd have to say, trying to be a "mass voter".. that:

a) The shot is too busy. Your composition has the viewer wandering all willy-nilly without too much of a basis for grounding. The pipe doesn't stand out enough, and the title is our only link to what the focus should be.

b) It simply doesn't look abandoned enough. I mean, it *does* look run down and neglected, but not enough that one could look at this for all of the 2.82828112002 seconds that a voter looks at it and say, yah.. this building has definitely been vacated permanently.

c) While *I* like it, the desaturation in your colors probably led to a bit of a disinterest as well.

So, there you have it.. the 3 main reasons why I would say your image did pretty poorly.. the fourth, of course, is the old stand-by.. you just never can tell with voters.

Hmm, bright midday sun, no interesting shadows, and no feeling of depth to the building. Interesting composition though. I'd advocate for a later in the day reshoot. Or an earlier in the day reshoot.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your title. Like the lighting on the gold tacks, and the sharpness of the first three. Overall, though, the composition is kind of flat.
