I suggest bracketing exposures to avoid this next time you take photos in contrasty lighting. If you can't do this manually, find your camera's EV setting and set it at a plus setting. You'll lose detail in the background but it what you gain in detail in the main subject will make up for this. If you were shooting a subject against a very light background you would try stopping down your exposure. In this case you would lose shadow detail but gain in the midtones and highlights. |
