This is a good composition. The lighting is okay, the noise and pixelization is a bit distracting (try using under 100 ISO whenever possible) - but the image isn't compelling to me. It may have been better with the scores actually showing up - maybe the bright colours would have added to the composition.

cropping of the speakers makes the image seem incomplete, but leaving it would have lost the simplicity of the subject

This perspective doesn't work for me. I think if it was lower such that the rim of the basket was at eye level it would show off the kittens' faces more. Lighting is also a bit bright as the basket handle cast a sharp shadow.

The light on this looks a little flat, maybe use slow-sync and less flash to get more of the ambient light?
