Steller's Jay on a Windy Dayby SammieComment by muur88: your background lends itself to some very interesting patterns. i wish you would have blurred it out a bit more. nice focus on the bird. the orange in the background is a bit distracting...maybe desat the orange out. |

Steller's Jay on a Windy Dayby SammieComment by KaDi: Lovely texture and motion on this Jay! An expertly made portrait. I wonder if his coat is ruffed not only because of the wind, but because he's a juvenile? Looks to be between plumages.
Color well rendered. Perhaps desat on yellow would have pulled down the orange spot and lessened the tug of the green that competes with your subject. Nicely captured, nonetheless . . . . . . . . |

Shadow Play by SammieComment by EllenC: I went down there last month to get photos, and it snowed! With gloomy windy weather, we came home. You got the perfect low-sun shot! Congratulations! |

Shadow Play by SammieComment by Imagineer: Definitely a shot your Dad would have been proud of - and in my view is one position too low.
Granted, you can't go wrong with this kind of scene, but you've observed & composed it well. The lighting here is key - without the sensation being added later in PP. Lovely. |
