Mesa Verdeby pmichaudComment by SaraR: I think maybe you are trying to distill the subject down to a simplified view of the structure. Not sure it works entirely - to me the walls and other features seem as though they are receding into the distance, and I want to reach out and pull them closer. I also find myself trying to define what various elements are - obviously not what you want with impressionism, and that may very well be a fault of mine as a viewer. |

Mesa Verdeby pmichaudComment by NeVeRyn: Having been to Mesa Verde, I remember this place very well - 26 years later. I don't really get the sense of impressionism - it feels too smooth and soft looking, it doesn't portray the feeling you get standing there - halfway up a cliff, treetops at your feet, deep shadows colored by ages old fire.

What??by pmichaudComment by EL-ROI: Nice pet picture. It's great to get out there with the dogs! I would love to see something dynamic added to the image... some motion, a different perspective, some DoF... Otherwise, with your description, the dogs have a good character. |

Mesa Verdeby pmichaudComment by Bear_Music: I see where you're going with this, but it seems curiously flat and washed-out. Where I'd expect a feeling of depth, solidity, and age, I take away, instead, a sort of gauzy insubstantiality that seems at odds with the gravitas of the place. |
