Great shot... The beach to me is like freedom too. So Freedom writen on the sand seems like the water and the sand thats free to move where ever it likes. Great image here.
I don't know but just guessing if you crop the image to only see the letters and the man would seem to be nice too, but then the image would be very small. Maybe crop the rock or clone it out, but then again thats just me. :)

Very nice. The background compliments the subject perfectly in tone and feel. Too bad you couldn't pull out a bit more detail in the black feathers of the head. Nice job overall.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, that I am using for this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Here we aren't seeing so much points of light as just an out of focus background. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Somewhat. On the whole however this image doesn't grab me.
