Balloon Chaos

We went to our first one this last forth of july. The wind was up and they couldn't launch but they kept blowing the balloons up just in case. It made for good photography but not so much fun for everyone else.

Both compositions are interesting, but I find myself drawn to this one over the other. Stormy Canyon is dark and foreboding but I find that the clouds are a tad too dark in processing and the canyon walls have 'too much' detail that it calls attention away from the other neat features in the photo. Lighter Canyon is more natural in colors and details - I also like how there is that field below that adds interest to the shot.

Balloon festivals are so much fun. I went to two last year for the first time. It surprised me how fast paced everything is. You just don't have much time to get in position and get the shots that you want. But it's a ton of fun.
