Great composition and color (or general lack thereof). The red really stands out and grabs attention for this picture. The detail of the ice is simply awesome and this is a great use of a narrow depth of field. The picture, if focused entirely, would be way too busy, but the blurry background really emphasizes the subject.

Lovely shot. Good lighting and focus. VERY nice colours. I had probably framed it a little harder to leave the left twig out. (Well, not SO sure). Anyhow a nice photo to look at.

I love it. When I lived up north (for most of my life) I loved photographing ice-encased flora. You did a good job of exposing to get detail, and none of it is blown out. The colors are superb, with only the reds evident, in an otherwise nearly monotone composition.
Dof is very good, isolating the foreground subject from the bg. The bg shows just enough detail to give a sense of environment.
The only thing I'd like to see differently is to eliminate the twig on the left. Maybe...but maybe not. ;-0

Wow, great macro shot! The colours, DoF, and focus are all spot-on. I'm not so sure about the twig on the left though, and I would probably crop it out of the shot, but otherwise this is a superb shot.

This is a wonderful macro shot. Your DOF is perfect and the clarity is very good. I especially like the way the second small twig is "pointing" to the larger one that is the main subject. Good luck!
