Dawn - Afterby just-marriedComment by just-married: Greg, You're right, the catch lights are small. They are the reflected window and would have been luch larger if I weren't turned quite so far away from the window. Do you think enlarging the catch lights in PS is advisable? Do you have a trick for that? I have in some cases dodged them, but never in a situation where the eyes were so crisp and I thought it will show more. Is there another way to do this in pp? (Of course I agree, handling it during shooting would be best.) |

Dawn - Afterby just-marriedComment by gwphoto: Looks great. Can I share a little secret with you that will make a subtle but huge difference. I know you didn't take the photo, but you can see what I am talking about here very clearly. Notice the white hgh light in the lower left corner of the plupil. An old portrait trick. Do everythig you can by either moving the lights of the subjects head so that that high light is on the color part of the eye. It will light up all around the color if done correctly and the eyes will just pop and set the photo. People won't know why they love the photo but they will. It is the little subtle differences that make a good photo great.. |

Beside Myselfby just-marriedComment by elru21: Adorable! I love the pink backdrop. Your daughter is just beautiful.
I am flattered that you linked to my version in your comments. It is certainly not my original idea (I saw a bunch of similar shots by other moms on another board). I am really glad that it inspired you to try it. Yours is great. Message edited by author 2005-02-14 16:12:30. |
