you're heading in the right direction, but i imagine you're a little frustrated. this image has everything going for it except for image quality - and there's not much you can do about that without spending money on a fast, long lens. if you're not sure, trying renting one. it's obvious that you are pushing your gear as far as it will go and sometimes you have to bite the bullet to move yourself along.

as for the image, ordinarily i advocate for a lower than eye-level perspective, but this is ok here. i'd still suggest trying a lower perspective next time you get a chance, either sitting or laying on the ground.

I like this picture, but I'm not sure what's up and what's down. Maybe my own perceptions are askew. It kind of looks like a couple of porcupines walking across a stream. I like the dark toning and the tendency towards abstraction.
