You have all the ingredients for a strong photograph but I think the light kind of waffles in the middle. Either you could have made a strong silhouette with very little detail showing upfront with only the highlighted cigarette or used another light source to highlight the face more strongly while retaining the backlight that highlights the smoke nicely.
