The L is excellent. Very good clarity in that eye, and the addition of the hand is a great touch. The tonality falls apart over on the R, though - just a bit to dark, and lacks contrast particularly around the ear and hair. Tough call...

The right side of the image seems to border on a very mid-level grey, so that side of the image doesn't carry the impact that the left side of the photo does. If you maybe pushed that middle-grey a more towards dark or light, that side of the image might not seem to walk the fence. The child's expression is wonderful, though. Great job capturing the softness of the left side of the photo while still keeping such high detail.
