Comment by Gene L.:
This tractor was sighted along Hwy 202 between Redmond and Woodinville. Because there is a chain-link fence behind it and to the left, and a highway to the right, my cropping options were very limited. I am very plesed with the this composition as it seems to capture the essence of this historical piece of equipment.

The one aspect that seriously detracts from it is the blotch on the radiator. I hope to get back there again and see what it should look like. I think it is just bent up a little, but the camera was unable to capture the detail? Perhaps this is a moire pattern. Anyone know what would cause this and how one might fix it?

A little too much depth of field for my liking. It's a good subject, but I would have liked to have pulled it out from it's surroundings a little.

Great old tractor, and I love the bits of white foliage - looks almost IR. Most of the tractor comes out kind of middle gray, though. Did you look at the individual color channels to see if there was one that offered better contrast? You could probably adjust the gamma down a little and see if that helped to add density to the tractor and darken the bg a little. Nothing to be done about it, but there seems to be some moire in the radiator grille that gives an odd sense of motion. Well seen.

Subject works perfect for black and white. Nicely framed too.

Extra cool tractor. I can't help being curious about the very busy radiator, and can't figure wha makes it look like it does. I realize you probably had no choice, but it does distract from an otherwise nice shot.

Whats going on with the front grill? Is it vibrating, or is it a moire pattern?

Very nicely done. Great detail. I would have liked a more blurred background (maybe a more open aperture?) but I realize this limitation with digital cameras

Great rust... it's a bit of a confusing photo though. I think a closeup on some features of the tractor rather than the whole thing would have been less busy and have more impact.
