Hi-Fiveby clickodakComment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club!
hey Marcel! I don't mind the image or your concept, but sadly it misses the mark in terms of interpretation of what the challenge called for. The composition is ok with the arms coming in from the sides and making a centred high-5, and I can see you kept things simple and didn't try to do too much with the concept. Some voters might have disliked the shadow cast by the hands; if possible, try to position models about 3ft away from your backdrop.
Keep up the good work!

Nice work on this image, although I find the tilted horizon bothersome to the eye. |

Marcel, guess who just laughed out loud when she saw there was only one critique left to write, and I knew there wasn't already a crit for this image...too funny :-)
Anyway- merde! Now I have to critique a challenge winner, always a daunting task. But in this case I am so glad to see that you went with a straightforward, simple image and didn't feel the need to add to it. I love that the ceiling looks like it should be the floor, the floor should be the ceiling - I guess, considering the location of this image, only fitting as that day the world turned upside-down for many, many people. The sensuous curves of the walls is echoed by the lit-up floor, and the reflections of those same lights in the reflective parts of the wall isn't perfect, so it throws the eye off just enough. Which makes the viewer look longer and appreciate this image and all the strange aspects of this tunnel all the more.
Again, huge congrats, I am so glad that you got your first blue with this, and I am honoured that you shared credit with me, though the work is all yours.
