Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that meets the challenge

Although there is not much evidence of speed it is implied through the obvious fact that the plane has taken off. Looking at your data it would have been difficult to show speed through motion blur even with a smaller aperture the shutter speed would probably have still been too high but a shot in lower light, dusk perhaps, and a much slower shutter speed to show some motion blur would, for me, have been more effective. I like the distortion of the background from the engines turbulence. Thanks for a generally a pleasing image Marcel

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that meets the challenge well

A very appropriate choice of subject that appears to have been very naturally captured in its natural environment. The composition is good, the apples dominate as indeed they should but the surrounding vegetation fits in nicely too. The back-lighting is good, lighting the grass and leaves very effectively, it helps balance the dominance of the apples in an appealing sort of way. Thanks for your entry Marcel

it seems unusual to see buildings this close to a plane that close to the ground

Your image fills the challenge brief with the hat and the candid street scene, I like your title and comments, indeed I think he must have been reading from a technical manual that just proved too much for her! I'm not sure the passing walker in the background adds more than he distracts I think your timing could have been improved in fact I think a closer image excluding most of the background distraction would probably have helped especially with your chosen title, the two empty chairs would add a further emphasis of his boring story. Nice attempt Marcel

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes to the challenge well

Ah what a great profession to have, working to give others pleasure. You have captured the moment nicely Marcel, you can almost hear the melody playing, his concentration clearly evident with his fingers demonstrating the mastery of his technique. The detail in the musician is very good and well isolated with the soft focus background but that is where I have my main problem. I rather wish I could see more detail in the band behind or a different viewpoint that has less distractions. I know this is not easy especially in a crowded audience so I think a larger DOF would have been better in this instance.
