Tower Craneby clickodakComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge well.
I have mixed feelings about this Marcel, on the one hand I like that you have thought about creating a more unique composition but I’m not sure it is working as you would like, I say that because the choice of left frame for the ‘base’ leaves it feeling as though it is toppling over and on its way down. The other issue is that these lines are all very strong in themselves, they do not lead in the traditional scene leading sense to a part of the image that you desire to be led into, the choice of subject is totally dominant it is the subject per se. |

Cactusby clickodakComment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club! Perfect settings for captured fireworks and smoke in our national colours, and indeed the result does look like a cactus. I find the silhouette of the bridge to be a minor compositional distraction, but otherwise this is a nice little pic. Only improvement I can thing of would have been to shoot wider to give a sense of setting. Ah well, c'est la vie!

Kitchen toolsby clickodakComment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club! Never would have guessed this as one of yours, Marcel :-) Very intriguing image and clever with the knife between the tines of the fork completing the fork's reflection. Definitely tools, it might have helped to add a little more, possibly something to provide a hit of colour as there is so much grey in this image. Maybe even just a carefully placed sprig of parsley? I see you shot quite fast for slowing down the speed a lot and using a tripod should have helped to bring in some light and perhaps add some contrast to the tools in question. The basic idea is brilliant, it just needs a little more work.
Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing more of it soon!

Shapeby clickodakComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge well.
This is a lovely graphic image. The shape of the fork̢۪s shadow is beautifully formed whilst also creating a sense of intrigue, it works really well. I also love the detail in the fork itself, a lovely combination of reflections and shades that again works very well, together they make for a very appealing combination. I don̢۪t feel, however, that the background does it full justice, I am imagining what this would look like against a white background and I am even more captivated by the vision I have, nevertheless the important parts are there and working really well, I like it Marcel, well done. |
