Shadowboxerby scalvertComment by afarland: I find the fuzziness created by the shadow to be distracting to my eye, but I do really like the concept here. |

Paradise Lostby scalvertComment by moodville: To start you have a good exposure, which is the most important with apes. You've got good details in the fur and face, and the eyes are shiny with good catchlights. The diagonal he is laying in as well as the wood carries the eye easily through the image. It looks like he is an adolescent so the pose would be typical and shows a glimpse of personality. The background is well blurred and complimentary to the image, not giving away signs of being taken in the zoo. The only nitpick are the white areas at the top that keep trying to pull my eyes toward them as they are the lightest area of the frame. |

Shadowboxerby scalvertComment by aKiwi: Love the sweat drops. The blur of the boxer seen through the shadow distracts a little, but I guess it couldn't be avoided. 8. |

Shadowboxerby scalvertComment by Skip: way cool! this is so killer. i hope i'm not wrong, but i'm absolutely convinced this was done in front of the camera and not in post-processing. either way, it's one of my top picks for the challenge. brilliant display of creativity and ingenuity. bravo! |

Practice Yoga Bearfootby scalvertComment by rennie: I saw it among pictures from the zoo. Love the pose of the bear. Since you cropped that image anyway, I would've leave the left foot with the paw. Let somebody guess what is it ;P 7. |

Shadowboxerby scalvertComment by blindjustice: great idea, black and white is not really doing it for me though. I do like the compostiion but the focal point is the face and it is out of focus, and the blurry obscured hip area is distracting. |
