PICT0464.JPGby TG73Comment by theodor38: i really like the sephia with it...i am realizing everyday that good scenery(composition) makes for a great picture.. for instance dr. jones, with that great of subjects you can never go wrong.. of cource photographic talent compliments it and if you dont have the eye to bring out the beauty or the essence of something that you visioned than i guess all can go to waste.. it is a great composition and the structure of the house gives it the final greatness... now only if there was a human subject stationed at a crucial position this would have been perfect.. may eb right at the edge of the house leaning towards it, perhaps a cigarette smoke coming out of his mouth, gazing at the tree line in the distance.. ahhh.. soothing... |

PICT0464.JPGby TG73Comment by TooCool: This has some very nice tonality. It also has a very nice focus and DOF as well.
It is a little confusing to the eye though. Part of this is because of the tilt. Your horizon is not level. At first I wasn't sure it was but because of the crooked frame of the old building and the unstraight tree to the right. However, looking at the background trees confirms that the overall shot is crooked. This is an easy fix in Photoshop. PM me if you need details.
Another reason that is a little confusing to the eye is the leading lines. The lines from the building frame work lead you into the shot, but there is nothing there to land on. This would not be an issue if the shot was cropped more on the right side and you had more shot on the left side. This way the leading lines would direct the eye outside the frame which can be quite effective! Not seeing the original, I do not know if this is possible or if it would have to be reshot.
Much potential here. Can't wait to see more of your work!
