This certainly strays the "dpc formula", so it gets extra points for that alone :) I like the dead space on top, the shape of the tree is awesome, and the birds complete the image.

The only thing I don't like is the composition seems just a bit off. I'd like to see a little more of the tree on the bottom and it might be better centered a little more ... but maybe not.

This is a very nicely lit shot - well composed too. If the footprints weren't there it could pass for the Colorado river or something due to the absence of scale.
