Yes! I didn't enter in the end, but I was sooo tempted to take a back light photo.. :-). And you've captured a back-lit back light. Clever pose, B&W + noise/grain give this a nice artsy feel. 7

Hmmm... thought this was the backlight challenge not the litback challenge.

Yes, it meets the challenge. But as with every shot, you want to ask yourself if it makes sense. What does the hand and the wedding ring have to do with this fabulous building? If you want to prove that you were there, you could probably use this shot to show your friends, since they can also look at your hand and match them up. From the point of view of someone you don't know, who wasn't there, there's no reason for the hand to be there. The idea of framing is that we get the sense of peeking through to see a scene. If I go to see this building, I don't imagine that my first glimpse of it will be peeking through a space between anyone's fingers.

There are three major parts to any good photo (in my opinion): What, How, and Why. You've got the what, this building is a great subject. You've got the How, I like the straight-on angle and the sense of mystery and surroundings created by the large shadow on the front wall. Now you just need to figure out Why you are taking a picture of this building, and if that Why is enhanced by this particular strategy.

Good luck to you, and Happy Shooting!

Should have framed it with something else. Hands are too distracting. Nice looking building though. - 3

Does make the building feel relatively small! Nice.

Perhaps some branches would have been a better frame

Simple with nice focus on contrasting textures of the pea and the cloth. 8
