Ahhhh Andi, hadn't seen this before. This honestly has got to be one of the most powerful, honest and moving images I've seen here at dpc.

If you ever need to talk, you know you have friends all over the world.....someone is always awake and there.

Thinking of you always

Until now I have found this image too difficult to revisit but, today, I wanted to return to leave you this message:

You showed such courage in submitting this shot and for me that sums you up. This past 7+ months you have had more to bear than any Father ever should but throughout you have shown great strength and I am so proud of you.

You have allowed me, DPC and all that know you to see your love for Rose and through you we have been able to get to know your beautiful girl. She will remain in my heart always.

Even with all you have and still are facing you have managed to be there for me and words are just not enough to show how grateful I am to you for this.

So Andi, whatever life brings in the days, weeks and months to come I just want to remind you to take time out for YOU, hold on to your happy memories and don't be afraid to cry.

I am always here for you, Love you XxX

Andi, really the only changes I think I would make to this shot is to try to lighten the eyes and perhaps lighten the mid-tones a bit. Otherwise, I don't think it really needs a lot of advanced editing.

Thank-you all for your comments, here is a poem that, well, brings me to tears each time I read it yet is so fitting for my baby.

The Rose Beyond the Wall

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by the morning dew,
Shedding it's sweetness day and night.

As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall
Through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length
And unfolded itself on the other side.

The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before,
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing it's fragrance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
And make our courage faint and fall?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive--
The rose still grows beyond the wall,

Scattering fragrance far and wide
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forevermore.
