Technical: Most all images submitted fit the challenge. Exposure good. Composition a little weak for me. More time spent might have produced more interesting compositions. Focus good. I feel the lighting should be more even and diffused.

Personal: I think this needs some work. Keep practicing, it's worth it!

The pie has great color and texture; it would make a great center of interest. But the bowl holding the pecans, being larger and darker, steals it away. Having them spread on the table beside the pie would make them a vital but non-distracting element. Add a few more elements (perhaps some eggs and a pie server) and choose a more interesting background and you'd have the makings of a great still life.

Why does this make me hungry? Looks delicious, however the bowl od pecans appeard larger than the pie, and I think it's the pie you're stressing. Peehaps if the pie were closer and the bowl behind it, perhaps cropped a little might be more powerful. (Did I say the pie makes me hungry? Nice pic!)

The bg has a blue cast. The pie looks very good, and is one of my favorites, so my mouth is watering. It really needs a different bg.

The light is very harsh and the colors seem faded. The composition could use some work as well. Maybe use a different angle and add more elements to the composition. These things might help some.

When you decided that this subject would be your choice for the �Still Life� challenge, how many different photos did you make to try to find the best perspective? How many different lighting options did you try to see how light changes could change the mood of the photo? I believe that some considerations of these elements could have helped you create a higher impact photo.
