At last - one with imagination. I had a bellyful of pencils and apples. Great commercial potential - the only problem is the slight burn-out bottom right and it would be nice to not see the shadow of the left forearm.
When I was selecting pictures for publication I would have this on the possible/probable pile

Engineering is neither trendy nor chic. I should know, I am an engineer. As for the photo, I think a sharper focus on the calculator would have been better.

This is a well taken and composed photograph. I would have preferred not to have to have seen more of the colour on the right hand side, as I find the light in the bottom right hand corner distracting.

When I was a school we were not allowed to use calculators, so for me it was log tables, and tedious re-iterations

Great idea! The light is the only issue to me. You may use two or more light sources to prevent the compromisse you made in right side of it.

Ha! I just got done explaining how high key lighting didn't work for the last photo and here I see a nice example of where it does work! High key is great for giving a modern,high tech, trendy look and you've used it pretty appropriately here. It could be toned down a bit---I'd like to see a little more detail in the skin tone and the denim but this is a great effort.

It's different and you have centainly worked on the idea. I still don't quite get it though. I have been looking at it and asking myself what this image really represents to me. As I mentioned before, 80's video was the first thing that popped into my mind and I have failed to really gather anything else from it. Maybe I am a bit detached from these sorta of thing.
Anyway, I like it for reasons I can't explain.

I like the bright high-key lighting for this shot and think it would be even better if it were more uniformly applied throughout. This is a really nice take on this challenge and a very well set up shot. Great job.
