IMG_3857.jpgby Rando D300Comment by macrothing: Nice (and 'special') capture. As you said, you should have used ISO 100 instead of 800, but as you also said, you've learned a lesson the hard way now. I like the way the shadow of the beak is on the 'neck' of the bird. They look like peanuts in the hand - but 'it's' beak is quite small, perhaps that explains the somewhat perplexed look 'it' has. Better luck next time. |

I wonder if you cropped him to fill the frame more would it be too blurry/grainy? I think its an incredible shot! |

'If only' the bird 'popped' against that very good DOF even more (whether it is the lighting or focus, not sure), but obviously opportune and difficult (especially with that natural, and good, lighting 'direction'). I like the composition. Good simple colors, but again, if only the bird and the 'blue' popped a fraction more, make this an even better shot in my opinion. |
