Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that contributes to the open challenge.

Or, ‘forever young’? Great to see your model obviously enjoying himself in the snow and the sun though I would have preferred to see more action in him as opposed to this quite static pose. I do like his colourful pants, I want a pair! Your exposure is good, the snow is crisp and white whilst still retaining good detail, well done.

Greetings from the Critique Club! Well that is definitely an unforgettable building ....at first I thought you had just pushed all the sliders as far as they could go, but your commenter makes it clear that those pretty much are the real colours. Vivid palette aside, the roof of the building shows that it is listing to the right - if you're going to enter a (pun aside) straight-up architecture shot, you want it to be as level as possible. Perhaps shooting a bit wider to include more of the street scenery, and help minimize the in-your-face colours, may have worked to your advantage. Your settings make it look like you shot handheld; a tripod would have been a tremendous help here.

Hope this critique has been of help and look forward to seeing more of your work soon.

Oh, nice! I was there too. I could have put in almost the same shot, but it looks like you might have been earlier and got better ambient light.

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that meets the challenge well

A lovely portrait that is always going to appeal, very tenderly done. I have to say I̢۪m not too keen on desalt so I̢۪m pleased that you haven̢۪t completely desaturated all the colour in the girl, here lovely rosy cheeks add a pleasing balance to the red of the rose. The blown highlights have hit her hair but not its a small price to pay for the important detail you have captured in her face. Its an image you will be able to treasure for a long while to come, well done Mark.

I think the couple needs either more detail (better front lighting) or much less detail (for a silhouette). You're somewhere in the middle here and it looks like you couldn't decide which way to go.
