flash or light is reflecting on reflectors - draws my eye there. dirt on floor to right of pedal in foreground (not good)

The lighting is very odd. It would be nice to not notice the lighting in this photo, as if it were all around, but I do like the shadow of the lamp.

Well I hope it's not this chaotic every time you go out for a date - LOL ;) Did you use flash or just a spotlight on this scene - the centre is well lit, but the light drops off quite dramatically at the sides. Not sure if this was the desired effect or not - but for me, a more even lighting would have looked better.
