I know it's tempting to view your photos so much harsher when they get penalised by low votes .. and a 1 I've heard can be a mistake .. like they were going to give you a 10 .. something about voting using a phone or using plus or minus keys .. not sure ..

I'd be saying don't let a vote of 1 stop you .. if you truly love photography and like to enter the challenges .. keep doing it ..

also what I've found when a photo doesn't get the love I feel it should during voting .. I tell myself that in a day or so I will have forgotten the 'hurt' ..

can you remember every photo that didn't live up to your expectations .. I can't ..

another thing .. the results here are not always an indication of a great photo ..
I reckon if Ansel Adams entered a challenge here in dpc he may not even get in the top ten .. he could win if course.. but it wouldn't be a given ..

anyway .. I saw your comment and could totally understand how you felt ..

I found this a very interesting street scene that captured my attention for awhile. Feels a little bit like an old movie (60's or 70's) scene; maybe something featuring Bruce Lee? :-) The hotel sign in the upper right, for some reason, added a touch of *something* for me (reality or intrigue). Anyway ... was a top score for me. Nicely seen and captured!

Highly effective depiction of inner memory, sinuous pathways and chopped up flashes. Some are still green and fresh, others seemingly dried and gone, but never really so.
