Every day above ground is a good day.by whiteroomComment by SherwinJames: Congrats on a top 5 finish. This shot, as well as all your other shots, have such a quality look to them. Not sure if its the detail, or the lighting or the composition, or all of the above. Whatever it is, you have it mastered. Do you offer lessons ;-)? |

Every day above ground is a good day.by whiteroomComment by SandyP: Oh Lesley, this is awesome! The title fits so perfectly, and it has your wonderful signature style. I agree, should have ribboned, but 5th place sure isn't bad either, and neither is a 6.768 score :)
Congratulations!

Every day above ground is a good day.by whiteroomComment by timfythetoo: You wuz robbed! 5th place is still pretty sweet (and nothing against the ribbon winners) but this should have a pretty little ribbon by it for sure. Great work (as always). Not sure what world the 1s, 2s and 3s are living in. |

Every day above ground is a good day.by whiteroomComment by timfythetoo: Great use of selective desat. Wonderful clarity and sharpness. Great face. I would expect this to be Goodman as it is Goodman quality. Excellent work. Bumping up 2 and is my top pick for the challenge. Back one last time. I think I have been stingy with my tens lately so here is to breaking that habit. Bumping up til I can bump up no further and adding to my favs. If this doesnt take first place then I will be stymied. |

Girl from Ipanema by whiteroomComment by JumpNyabinghi: I fail to see why it actually matters whether or not she comes from Ipanema - I noticed some people making a fuss about that. What I love about this shot is the way that the girl is looking off to the side. She doesn't seem to be posing for a picture; just thinking. Her expression is almost forlorn, and she looks so deep in thought that I spent many minutes just staring at her and wondering, what is it that has captured her train of thought as such?
A really wonderful shot. I especially like the shadowing around her collar-bone. It might seem odd, but I think that her collar-bone is absolutely beautiful.
Great job. |
